Assemble the Frame

Step 1

Start by building both (2) sides of the frame using 3 frame-vertex and 3 stud-frame-side. Make sure to include the extra 2 nuts and washers on the bottom most rod as shown.

The distance between the facing edges of the vertex along each stud-frame-side is 290mm.

Step 2

Add the nuts and washers to the stud-frame-top rods as shown.

Step 3

Slide two of the stud-frame-end threaded-rods through the y-motor-bracket that was assembled previously. Now add the M8 nuts and washers as shown to clamp the y-motor-bracket somewhere in the middle. Don’t forget the other M8 nuts and washers as shown paying attention to which rod gets which. Leave all the nuts loose for now.

Step 4

Slide the remaining 2 stud-frame-end rods through the y-idler-bracket that was assembled previously. Now add the M8 nuts and washer as shown to clamp the y-idler-bracket near the middle of the studs. Don’t forget the other M8 nuts and washers as shown paying attention to which rod gets which. Leave all the nuts loose for now.

Step 5

Once you have the above assembled you can join both frame sides with the motor, idler, and top rods as shown. Make sure that the y-motor and y-idler face the same direction with the pulleys on the same side. Tie the sides to the stud-ends with more M8 nuts and washers .

Step 6

The spacing between the facing edges of the vertex along each stud-frame-end and stud-frame-top should be 236mm. For the stud-frame-top split the overhang on each side evenly. You should have about 84mm on each side.
